Letter from Pieter Karsten

Dear Friend / Supplier / Business Associate,

From Monday, 6th to Friday, 10th August a team of cyclists will be taking part in the Karsten CANNON-TO-CAPE CANCER CHARITY CYCLE!

Colleagues from and friends of Karsten will be undertaking a cycle ride from Roepersfontein, Kanoneiland (“Cannon Island”), Northern Cape Province to Lourensford, Somerset West, Western Cape Province. That’s 943 kilometres, or 585 miles, in just five (5) days!!

This will be no small task.  The vast distances, the remoteness of the Kalahari and the mountainous region of the Boland will challenge them all the way!!

We are hoping to raise a substantial amount of cash (let’s call it a container load of cash!) for CANSA (Cancer Association of South Africa).  Working with CANSA to identify areas of need, funds raised will spend in the area of TLC (Tough Living with Cancer supports children suffering from cancer).  We undertake to provide full details of funds raised and spend on our web-blog.

As a valued supporter of Karsten and CANSA we are asking if you would be prepared to provide sponsorship to the team.  We can incorporate your company logo into the Cannon-to-Cape web page and use it for photo opportunities with the riding team wherever possible.  Please dig deep, it’s a great cause and every donation, however small, will make a difference. All you need to do to donate is visit our webpage (http://cannon-to-cape.blogspot.co.uk) where you will find the bank account details for your electronic funds transfers.

Please note that our funding vehicle, The Jabelpa Trust, is approved as a public benefit organisation in terms of section 30 of the Income Tax Act; the Trust has also been approved for the purposes of section 18A(1)(a) of the Income Tax Act, meaning that donations will be tax deductible in the hands of the donors.

Thank you in advance for your support.

Best Regards,

Pieter Karsten
